Free Personals Services

There's a woman for every man, a foot for every shoe. Single people can always find a suitable partner. If the bar scene, dating services, blind dates, match makers, or any other method isn't working out for you in your search for Mister or Miss Right, there are free personals services available on the Internet to give lonely hearts a chance to mingle for free.

Mate1.com offers free personals services to registered users of their site. By doing an introductory sample search of someone in a specific town and age range, the search resulted in over 2,000 registered users matching that description. This is a lot to offer from just one search. Registration is free although users are required to receive announcements from Mate1's partner sites.

Another major free personals service is True.com. After signing up for the free service, single people can search from among ten million members, have a scientific compatibility test performed, and most importantly, all single people who register are screened for criminal records and verification of their marital status. Initial membership is free. However, a paid subscription is required to gain full access to True's website.

Match.com is another personals site with free initial registration but full membership requires payment. The benefit to a Match membership is a partnership with advice counselor Dr. Phil. Match boasts over eight million members, creation of a free profile and a subscription to "meet your match." Plenty of Frequently Asked Questions are available for those who aren't convinced of Match's potential and Match compares the membership to that of a night at a bar, a bag of popcorn or a movie.

For a truly free personals service, single people can try MySpace or Craigslist. Registered users of MySpace can sort through classified listings by major city in the categories "men seeking men," "men seeking women," women seeking men," "women seeking women," "missed connections" (in case you were out somewhere and had an opportunity to talk to that special someone but were too shy), and "miscellaneous." Users send a reply to the poster's MySpace account where they can be read and responded to.

The same system applies on Craigslist. Classified personals listings are organized according to city or subdivisions of the city as well as suburban listings. Categories in the personals section are the same variety of man/ woman seeking as on MySpace, "miscellaneous romance," "strictly platonic," "casual encounters," "missed connections," (again, for the shy), and "rants and raves." Users send a message to a confidential email address that is forwarded to their regular email address.

There are more than enough free personals services on the Internet for people who are tired of being alone. That special someone can be found with patience, determination and some time and effort. Good luck and good hunting.
